Italian Air Traffic Control strike and Local airport providers (external ground handling) strike my flight from Palermo to Naples July 15th canceled. According to doctrine and jurisprudence, force majeure applies in the event of natural and human events (natural disasters, earthquakes, hurricanes, riots, wars, national strikes, fires, or other unforeseeable events) which, due to their unpredictability and extraordinary nature, are not dominable.The Art 1467 of the civil code provides that: if the performance has become excessively onerous due to extraordinary and unforeseeable events, the debtor has the option of requesting termination of the contract. The party against whom the termination is requested, can avoid the termination by offering to modify the conditions of the contract fairly. This rule is applied in the case of contracts with continuous, periodic or deferred execution (so-called long-term contracts such as leases, company leases, the provision of services).
