Dear Pass The Property
In June this year, I made a booking via Booking.com at ‘The stylish cottage of Oxford - sleeps 5’, agreeing a fee of £476 for an overnight stay from 2 to 4 August for five people.
Below is a list of the problems encountered during our stay, for which I expect a full refund, since a weekend celebrating a graduation and a birthday was ruined.
1) The accommodation is unfit for five people: the fifth bed is not a bed, it is just a larger sofa than usual. Moreover, there was no linen for the fifth 'bed', and it was never delivered - one of your colleagues mentioned that, if the cleaning ladies found it, they would bring it, which never happened.
2) We were bitten by bedbugs.
3) We found dead ants in different corners of the accommodation.
4) Coherently with point 1, there is only one - extremely small - wardrobe in the whole house for the clothes of five people. We had to keep our clothes in suitcases.
5) Had we not arrived later than check in time, we would have still found people inside fixing the hob. Another missed opportunity to offer a basic service, i.e., punctual check in.
To offer a 10 per cent refund given all the inconveniences - to say the least - encountered, is indecent of you.
In the absence of a reply within 15 days of receipt of this letter, I will not hesitate to take legal action to protect my rights.
Regards,
